DELIVERY DIGGING THE HOLE

‘Digging The Hole’ is the new single from Melbourne-based five-piece Delivery. It’s a great track that sets its pace from the start and keeps it up throughout, with influences from Parquet Courts and The Ramones edging their way into that razor-sharp modern Australian rock sound. Towards the end of the track, it breaks down into a percussive bridge, before guiding us back to one final, hugely melodic chorus. “It was written in a rush, combining a bunch of unused ideas, with vocals and guitar leads completely ad-libbed on the spot as it was demoed,” they say. “The final song ended up with more twists and turns than a Sherlock episode, but at the same time seemed to make perfect sense to me.” The band have signed to Heavenly Recordings; keep an eye out for more later this year. -Dan Peeke
